Movie Review: Young Frankenstein

Truly one of the best comedy movies of all time. Mel Brooks is a genius and this is one of his finest works. I cannot tell you how many times I have seen this picture and still find something new to laugh about. A take-off of the 1940s classic monster movies, Gene Wilder stars as the heir to the Frankenstein family castle and of course, all of the legends that go with it. Reluctant to even admit the connection between himself and his infamous grandfather, the Young Frankenstein ultimately follows in his footsteps and succeeds in creating the monster, played by Peter Boyle. With his sidekick Igor (Marty Feldman) and lovely lab assistant (Teri Garr), Dr. Frankenstein pursues his grandfather’s dream of re-animation while holding off the town folk, keeping his fiancee (Madeline Kahn) occupied and coping with the idiosyncrasies of his grandfather's girlfriend (Cloris Leachman). Always enjoyable!!!
