Last night...I cut a piece of pie...we grabbed the baby...and watched CAMP X-RAY. At the moment it's playing in select theaters and finally came to HOUSTON today. It's playing at the Alamo Drafthouse Mason Park theater. Dinner and a movie this weekend?
So what did I think of it? Well...if you don't know me...let me share something with ya'll. I'm not a total fan of Kristen Stewart. So when I first heard about CAMP X-RAY...I wasn't going to watch it. But...after watching the trailer...serving in the military...I thought I'd try it out. I'm glad I did. It's a good movie folks.
Kristen Stewart was Kristen Stewart. The wifey said it was difficult believing her in this role. (I think she's still upset about her being Snow White) What did it for me was - Payman Maddi...he plays the main detainee who goes against Stewart's character. This dude was good. I've never seen him in anything...but I would now. The story was pretty intense. Definitely makes ya think.
I spoke with another friend who saw this as well and when I asked her if she liked it - she said, "It's a good movie. Just moves at a slow pace." I guess I could see that - but - that didn't bother me.
I give CAMP X-RAY... 3 out of 5 popcorns.
P.S, Shoutouts to Lane Garrison - he's from Dallas, TX and plays a total douche bag named Ransdell in the movie. Hey...he's from Texas...I'm from Houston.
