INNOCENCE, based off the 2001 novel by Jane Mendelsohn, tells the story of Beckett Warner, a teenager dealing with the recent death of her mother. Yet, once she moves to Manhattan to put her life back together and begin a new school, Beckett realizes that her troubles may be far worse—her school is run by a coven of beautiful and seductive women who perpetuate their youth by drinking the blood of virgins.
Little Maddox is finally allowing me to catch up on some of my 'early' movies!
Today I watched INNOCENCE starring a few faces I recognized and few faces I've never seen. Overall for me – the movie was cool. When it first started – not going to lie…I thought INNOCENCE was going to be about a surfer girl who falls in love - - then it takes crazy turn and POW! Hello weird Harry Potter school - without the magic…well…actually. (lol)
Some of the things I found cool – the hot school nurse played by Kelly Reilly. She was nice to look at. She played a 'creepy up to something' person really well. It was REALLY cool to see Mrs. Gold. Ya know…from the HBO series ENTOURAGE!! She plays a alcoholic gym mom - - who walks around in her…well…you know. Her gym clothes. ;) I also liked the way the film was shot – that was pretty cool. Sophie Curtis who plays the main girl Beckett – I thought she did great. I believed her ‘drama.’ She kept my attention.
Some of the things I found NOT so cool – the whole story itself. I thought it was pretty predictable…and the ending – definitely saw that coming. I wanted to be surprised and I just wasn't.
I give INNOCENCE… 2 ½ out of 5 popcorns! If you’re into teen drama PG-13 flicks - - this might be up your alley…but for me…it just didn't do it for me.
