TRUE CRIME. TRUE LOVE. TRUE STORY - That’s exactly what the movie ROB THE MOB is all about.
I just watched it people and I gotta say…it’s a pretty damn good movie. Now – don’t get it twisted with the word LOVE - - - - this isn't THE NOTEBOOK...just like the Blu-ray cover says, It’s ‘Bonnie and Clyde’ meets ‘Goodfellas.’
The movie’s about a couple who live in New York in the early 90’s. They're pretty much crack heads until SOMETHING happens and they get clean and sober. Rosie (Nina Ariana) gets a job and when Tommy (Michael Pitt) returns from his vacation - they start living the 9-5 life...but...SOMETHING happens that pushes Tommy into a different direction. He decides he wants to ROB the MOB.
Yep. BIG BALLS this guy has! Tommy and Rosie become a modern day Robin Hood - - they steal from the Rich and well...the poor isn't the city of New York but themselves. You can probably already guess - the Mob isn't too happy about this and all hell breaks loose!!
...and that's all I'm going to tell you about this movie!! (lol) I don't want to ruin it. :)
WHAT DID I LIKE ABOUT THE MOVIE? I would have to start off with the cast. Michael Pitt - he plays Tommy. I know the dude’s stuff. I think he's great in everything he does. Some of ya'll might recognize him from the NBC show Hannibal (which he's great in). Nina Ariana plays Rosie - his main squeeze. Now - I'm not familiar with her at all - - but - - I liked her. I thought she was great. The chemistry between both of them was solid!! Ray Romano plays a newspaper reporter who's been covering the mafia trials. He's good. Any Garcia plays Big Al the Mob Boss - - and when it comes to Andy Garcia...well...he's freaking Andy Garcia.
The movie's got comedy and drama. It's a solid flick. As soon as the movie starts you see Based on a True Story. Now the director has me wanting to jump on Google and do a little research - it's crazy what this couple did.
WHAT DID I NOT LIKE ABOUT THE MOVIE? I have no complaints. Oh...maybe just one. That more people didn't get a chance to see it in the theaters.
I give ROB THE MOB... 3 1/2 out of 5 popcorns! It's good people. I wouldn't steer you wrong. :) Oh and ff you're a fan mafia films - it's worth the watch - - you'll recognize a lot of the guys in the film - even Paulie!
ROB THE MOB in stores now.
