Movie Review: One Week

What would you do if you only had one week to live?
That's question asked in the Canadian film "One Week." Ben Tyler played by Joshua Jackson is a teacher who finds out he has stage IV cancer with a week or at best two years to live. Weeks away from his wedding, he tells his fiancee goodbye and heads west on a cross country Canadian trek. The script follows along the lines of Sean Penn's "Into the Wild" in that the character follows his own path, despite the wishes of others.
With a film based on the premise of dying, you might think this film is depressing. But, it's not. In ways, it's inspirational. The Canadian scenery is breath-taking and the film reminds us that each day is precious and to really take the chance to live each day to the fullest.
While a little off-beat at times, the film is a good watch and one that will leave you longing for an adventure of your own.
