This Ridley Scott sci-fi thriller takes place in 2089, the prequel set before his 1979 “Alien” with Sigourney Weaver.  Cave drawings found on Earth are interpreted as an “invitation” to humans and sends the Prometheus crew on a 2-year jaunt to a new planet.  Once again, an android brings heartburn to human like a toaster that knows only one setting...burnt.  Good casting and homage paid to original masterpiece make this a delightful adventure.  However, film loiters too long on mythology and delves into mankind theories at all the wrong times--both mood-killers for the alien battles and ending any serious momentum in suspense.  I never felt the characters got fully developed and therefore left me not invested for any of them.  But sci-fi enthusiasts will enjoy.  Grade: B-
