10 Movies that Celebrate Spring


Ah, Spring. It’s a time of renewal and a time when you feel ready to get out and enjoy some time outdoors after a long winter.  Our collection of movies that celebrate spring features something for everyone. From adventurous journeys to life’s simple pleasures, take a moment to enjoy spring via the movies and be sure to share some of your springtime favorites in the comments.

Spring Breakers  (2013) -  College girls on spring break enjoy a getaway that they never could have imagined. The movie releases nationwide on March 22nd and features James Franco, Selena Gomez, and Vanessa Hudgens.

The Secret Garden (1993) - A movie that takes us back to the carefree days of childhood. Plenty of stunning scenery reminds us of what we love about this time of year. 

Emma (1996) - Jane Austen’s movie stars Gwyneth Paltrow in this springtime tale of love set amongst the scenic English countryside.

State Fair (1945) – A springtime movie that features possibly one of the greatest songs about spring “It Might As Well Be Spring.”

Where the Boys Are (1960) – A classic spring break flick in which college girls leave behind the snow to head sunny beaches in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Bambi (1942) – The enchanting spring scenes in this Disney classic make this one of our favorite animated films of all time.

 She’s All That (1999)  – The movie starts out with a Florida spring break flash-back.

The Sure Thing (1985) A romantic comedy featuring John Cusack and Daphne Zuniga on spring break.  

Easter Parade (1948) – Easter and spring go hand in hand. This cheerful musical stars Judy Garland and Fred Astaire.  Some amazing dancing and incredible vocals make this a classic to watch every spring around Easter.

Spring Breakdown (2008) – Amy Poehler stars in this underrated comedy about a group of friends vacationing at a popular spring break resort.
