Movie Fan Profile - John Meneghetti

We are thrilled to have John Meneghetti featured in this week’s movie fan profile.  John is the Founder/President/Webmaster/Reporter of SandwichJohnFilms.Com. The site started as a passion of his and grew the site into what it is today.

Q. Was there a particular film that sparked your interest in writing about movies? If so, what movie and why?

A. I'm not sure there was one film that really sparked my interest that caused me to write about films. I think that at a young age I just grew to love watching movies. It was an escape for me from real life and what was going on. I was able to escape to any world or situation that I wanted to. My true love was seeing Stars Wars and Flash Gordon. I would watch those movies over and over again on beta. (Which most younger people probably have no clue what kind of machine that is.)

Go Flash Go!

Q. What is your most memorable movie moment?

A. Finding out that Dark Vader was Luke Skywalker’s father. I think I all most shit my pants when he said " Luke I am your father." Just the anticipation on what he was going to say at that moment had you holding onto you seat.

Q. Movie theater or home...where do you prefer to watch movies?

A. I prefer my home. Getting to have a cold beer and popcorn and it didn't cost me an arm and leg. Sitting in a lounge chair and just relaxing is so nice. And if you happen to fall asleep just hit the back button and there you go.

When I was younger I would have to say going to the theaters, reason behind that is that I actually got to see my father and spend time with him, even if we just sat there and shared a soda and popcorn. Those times will always mean so much to me.

Since I started hosting advance screenings it is nice to get into the theaters and see the fans reactions to the films that will be released into theaters that weekend or near future.

But I gotta say watching a movie at the house is the way to go.

Q. What is your favorite movie quote?

A. Of course " Do or Do not there is no Try" And I love the quote from Commando "I eat green berets for breakfast" Arnold has so many get one liners.

I love to bug the hell out of my wife with this one from Batman " Have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight."

Q. How many movies do you think you've watched in your lifetime?

A. WOW, I would really have to think about that one. Not sure I could come up with a real number for that question. Let me just say it's in the thousands if not more.

Q. What movies are you most looking forward to seeing  this year?

A. Of course the number one on my list is

1.     Iron Man 3,

2.     The Wolverine,

3.     Star Trek Into Darkness

4.     Man Of Steel,

5.     Thor: The Dark Worlds

6.     Monster University

7.     Pacific Rim

I know there are so many more movies that I have left off the list but those are my top six so far. Shit, I forgot Smurfs 2. LOL

Q. What type of movies are you typically drawn to and why?

A. I am drawn to all types of movies. I don't really think I can narrow it down to one type. I love me an action film and there are other night when you just need a good love story to bring you closer to the one you love. Or a film with a great story that makes you sit back and just think. Or a film like Shawshank Redemption and film tat inspires you to overcome anything life puts in front of you.

But I would have to say right now would be comic book films. Just something about them. watching them on Sunday morning or just reading them in comics. We finally get to see them on the big screen. A boys dream come true.
